Sunray Cinema is co-owned by Shana David-Massett and Tim Massett, who previously operated out of a historic theater in Jacksonville. Now, the theater is located in a building attached to the University Mall near the University of South Florida. The venue has a total of fourteen screens as well as a wide array of concessions, including vegan options. While the theater is no stranger to new releases, they also consistently host indie and special screenings, most recently a film event spanning multiple weeks in which the entirety of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks series was screened.
